Rufus Porter
Cathy & Gary Johnson have a daylily farm at 48 Mason Road, New Ipswich, NH. A circa 1800 farmhouse is located on the property which contains wall murals painted by Rufus Porter. I had the opportunity to take some photos of the murals in July of 2019.
Cape Escape 2021
We came back for a Cape Escape 2021 after skipping 2020 because of COVID. COVID is still with us in a more virulent form but we are among the vaccinated.
Worm Bag Revisited
I’ve been raising worms in my basement for over twenty years. They consume kitchen waste and produce high quality compost. Finding a suitable container for them has been a work in progress.
Lewis Edwin Wilson (1935 – 2020)
We finally had the opportunity to gather to celebrate the life of Lew Wilson. Lew was a regular at our monthly music jams. He had a deep catalog of songs and stories which he would share when we got together. Sadly after his wife passed, his health failed. Covid kept us from visiting him in a nursing home. Lew was a Korean War veteran and was honored for his service at the Winchendon, MA Veterans Cemetery on June 7, 2021.
Benign Neglect Lawn Care
I’m beginning to ask myself why I bother mowing so much of my lawn. Why not let some of it revert to a meadow with flowers and pollinating plants?
