The Peterborough Labyrinth 2024
It has been my New Years tradition to walk the Chartres Labyrinth that is set on the floor of the town hall in Peterborough, NH. A walking meditation that quiets the mind in preparation for a new year. Out family ended the year with a death of my cousin. While we were attending the funeral my mom was admitted to the hospital with a case of pneumonia. The Labyrinth helped so I walked it twice.
Tomato Soup
Mom was in good spirits considering that she was in the hospital. She was admitted to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Her only complaint was that she preferred the food at Catholic Medical Center. At the age of 102 she knows her way around a myriad of hospitals, dialysis centers and rehab facilities. She did like the tomato soup but wasn’t impressed with the lemon meringue pie. She still has a lot of congestion so we have no idea how long she’ll be staying.
Elliot Hospital Cafeteria
I had a sandwich in the cafeteria and found it to be quite tasty. However what impressed me most was the interior design. It looked like something an AI program would create, You be the judge.
That was my start to the new year, the labyrinth and a hospital visit. Tomorrow I’ll resume the regular schedule of Tai Chi and Yoga. In addition the Far Outers will be meeting for the first time this year. I’m sure we’ll be discussing health issues, we are all of that age. Later I’ll check in with Mom.
Bell Island, Norwalk, CT
After the funeral my sister and I had a nice visit with my cousins who live on Bell Island in Norwalk, CT. It is easy to get to the “island”. One only needs to drive over a 20 foot bridge. I liked seeing this planting by the beach. Too cold for swimming.
