Christmas Day 2023

Living Christmas Wreaths

Thanks for the Christmas Cards

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my family, friends and readers. I’d like to acknowledge those who send us cards and newsletters. I apologize for not reciprocating but I stopped sending cards years ago. I do like hearing from all of you and hopefully this website provides a bit of news about what’s happening in my strange life.

Card Acknowledgements

This list is incomplete. Cards continue to dribble in, as well as the end of the year newsletters. I did get a card from my Humana Insurance salesman. I also received one from the New Hampshire Democratic Party, I don’t the heart to tell them that I am now registered as an undeclared.

Christmas Breakfast

Matt, Josh and Emily came to the house for our traditional Christmas breakfast. Croissants, fried sliced kielbasa, home fries and eggs, a feast of calories and cholesterol. After that we waddled into the living room to open gifts. The scratch tickets were all duds, but the other gifts were quite nice. This is was the first of our celebrations, we packed up some food and headed to my Mom’s house in New Boston.

Christmas Dinner

We packed up the guacamole ingredients, ham, salad fixings and headed to my Mom’s house in New Boston. I have photos to share.

We didn’t get the chance to take a group photo. Susan had some games planned but the gift exchange took more time than expected. It was a wonderfully hectic day,

2024

The year is drawing to a close. The last couple of weeks I was able to add fresh content to this website on a daily basis. However that was not possible this week. I was too busy with Holiday preparations. My aspirational goal for 2024 is continue with an online journal. Thanks to all of you that spend the time reading these missives. Have a wonderful 2024.

  1. Love it…love to see your life….especially love the pic of Aunt Betty laughing. We will get together with Barbara D at her house and Carolyn will be there…..should be a kick. WAish we could attend Lisa’s funeral….but Bb and I made a committment to visit cousins more often in the New England area…..especially anyone who has a driveway we can park in!!!

  2. This is a great collection of pictures! I love the one with mom laughing. with Brad and Jesse. The wreath picture is special! Oh and me and Alex warms my heart.

  3. Speaking of cholesterol laden breakfasts. My father Nick always would fry up a piece of liverwurst to have with his bacon and eggs on Christmas day. Wish I knew how or where the tradition began but he always said it was for “good luck” in the year ahead. It’s a tradition I continue to this day. Everyone else goes “Eeewwww!” but in reality it does taste pretty good.
    Happy New Year.
