November Bluebirds
It is getting cold but I’m still seeing bluebirds. Will they stay through the winter months?

I am enjoying sitting on the deck watching the bees visit the last blossoms before the killing frosts. Bluebirds have returned for one last time to my feeders. However bird feeders are attractive to a larger animal.
Marcia and Mark Wilson founded Eyes on Owls in 1994. They present wild owls as an educational enterprise. The owls they care for are permanently disabled and cannot survive in the wild.
Raven fascinate me. Almost every day a see a few fly overhead and hear them croaking and clicking. I invite them down for some dog food but they never stop in. I decided to visit them in one of their popular habitats.
This winter I built several birdhouses. Spring is coming and I noticed a Carolina Wren spotting out locations for a nest. Today seemed like a good day to put them out.
In the final week of October the weather is turning wetter and colder. Election day is less than a week away. Time to bring in the houseplants and fill the bird feeders.
