The Daily Picture Theme is #Pain

I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site, A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” The picture theme for April 10th is . I’m not in the habit of photographing people in pain (except myself), but I can certainly imagine painful encounters, Such as being stung by these nasties.

There is physical pain, but there is also the pain of losing friends and family. At this point in my life, this scene replays itself on a regular basis.

Springtime in New Ipswich 2015

On April 10, 2015 it seemed that winter was finally over. However in New Hampshire, we have many false starts. On this day nine years ago we had a good amount of freezing rain and quite a coating of ice.



Isabella Stewart Museum – El Jaleo

I still haven’t had the opportunity to process all the photos from our tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. El Jaleo was one of the more impressive works by John Singer Sargent that dominates an entire wall.
