The Daily Picture Theme is #Ripe

I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site, A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” The theme for April 5th is #Ripe. Avocados came instantly to mind when I thought of ripening. There is a narrow window of time when they are perfectly ripe, after that, you’ve wasted your money. I give them a squeeze to test if they are ready.

On This Day – April 5th (2022)

Over the last couple of years bald eagles have been appearing at our ponds. Smithville Reservoir is just a short walk from my house and I was fortunate enough to have my telephoto lens when I spotted them. However they we quite a distance away and the photos are not as sharp as I wanted. These photos are heavily cropped. It is so much easier to photograph flowers and landscapes.

Nor-easter

I’m grateful that we didn’t lose power during the storm. The snow was heavy and dense. typical for a Spring Nor’easter. The snowblower struggled to get through it and I spend most of the time fighting to keep it from riding up over the packed snow. We were able to get out this morning for lunch with my daughter and a tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. It was quite a day.

Coming Soon

There was lot to see today at the museum and other venues in Boston. However I didn’t have the time to process the photos. That will come in subsequent days. Stay tuned for more.
