A funeral service was held for my mother on January 20, 2024 at the Community Church in New Boston, NH. She loved her family, friends and her town. I would like to thank some of the many people that participated in the services and arrangements. First I would have to thank my mother who left specific instructions for her own funeral.

If I decide to die

“If I decide” is so typical for Mom. She left us detailed instructions about how her funeral was going to be done. My sister did an amazing job bringing it all together. Music was organized by Ms. Sam Gorton. Karina Allayne was the pianist. David Meyer played bagpipes. My cousins practiced singing a phonetic transcription of Serdeczna Matko, a Polish hymn that is sung at every family funeral that I can remember.

Dan Chapman officiated at calling hours and washed the floor at the church. Matt Poltrack, Jesse Carr, Charlie Peak, Rodney Towne, Bill Vickery, Jim, Goonan, and Ryland Carr were pall bearers. Paul Citak provided technical support so the services could be streamed online. Reverend Robert Woodland and family members delivered eulogies. We have received sympathy cards and online remembrances. Thank you all for this.

Other folks arranged flowers and prepared food. Surrounded by friends and family in the town she loved was the perfect way to say goodbye to this extraordinary woman.
