November 19, 2023 (Sunday)

It was a cold and crisp 28 degrees this morning but I remembered that it is only 122 days until the first day of Spring. I’m looking forward to the day when I can move the houseplants outside again and let the rain do the watering. Plant maintenance is a chore that can easily last an hour or more. I always tend to overwater and have to deal with the leaks and I already have enough leaks with my plumbing job. For those who are curious (Lois Somers), the plumbing job will continue next week at some unspecified time, This weekend was too busy to waste time on impending disasters,

Those we have lost

Kathy Williams and Heidi Jeldres organized a gathering to remember Dana Paul and the other members of our musical community, We remembered them with music, food, and stories. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of playing music with them at the various music jams. They are gone but we still play their songs and think of them.

Daily Picture Theme – Skill

I participate in a daily photo challenge on the social media site Spoutible. Everyday there is a different subject announced as a Daily Picture Theme. I select an appropriate  photo from my collection to share. I have been sharing these exclusively on Improves With Age, my Substack newsletter. However since I have untaken the task of writing daily entries, I decided to introduce a daily picture theme photo to this website.

The theme listed for November 18, 2023 is SKILL. I thought of the skill it would take to construct this sand mandala.
