Saturday – Veterans Day
Now for something completely different on Veterans Day. This morning I attended a Hip-Hop dance class at Willow Tree Studio in New Ipswich. It was a high energy class and a lot of fun. The moves confused me, but I’m not giving up. I’ll report my progress in subsequent postings.
It wasn’t enough for me to struggle through the dance steps for an hour. I decided to stay for the Pilates class which followed the Hip-Hop class. Pilates are exercises for core strength and I can attest I have no core strength. For example, if I am lying on my back on the floor there is no way that I can sit upright using my abs. I need to roll to the side and push myself up. I watched with some dismay as everyone else were doing things that defied gravity. However like the dancing, I’m not ready to give up. You may have noticed that there are no photos of me doing Pilates. Maybe because I don’t own leg warmers.
Choring Around
It was a good day for chores. I cleared all the dead morning glory vines off the railings of the deck. I removed the chairs from the kitchen deck. It will be a while till I’ll be reading outside. I drained the rain barrel before it freezes into a block of ice. We had so much rain this year that it never emptied. I started to split some wood but was rescued by some friends walking their dog. I was happy to leave that task and walk with them by the Reservoir.
Their dog Winnie is usually very skittish and shy around me but today she approached me. Perhaps the effect of sweating to Hip-Hop. The sun is low in the sky this time of year. It makes for long shadows but diminishes the efficiency of solar panels.
I’ll be curious to see how I feel tomorrow. I was a lot more active than usual.
