It’s been a while since I reported on the latest items I’ve seen at our recycling center (AKA “The Green Center”). I was able to visit the Center on the last day in July and as expected I did see some unique items.

Doggie Gallows

Dog Bathing Station

I had no idea what this was. Thankfully someone explained that is was a washing station for a small dog. I was just happy to learn it wasn’t a gallows.

As Seen On TV

The Green Center is a mecca for “As Seen On TV” products. Most are items for food preparation and a great number are Ronco products invented by the TV pitchman Ron Popeil. Ron invented the chop-o-matic, pocket fisherman and many other useful items. His story was posted on the donut maker box.

THE RONCO STORY

You may know us from our infomercials, but we have been selling quality products to consumers since the early 50’s. Our founder Ron “Ronco” Popeil is one of America’s unique inventors, voted by Self Magazine readers as one of the 25 people who have changed the way we eat, drink and think about food. Instead of making cooking a chore, Ronco has made cooking quicker, easier and more enjoyable. Our original standards of great performance, durability and unique designs can be found in each of our products. Over the years we have continued to improve our quality and the easy use of each of our products so that they are among the best in the marketplace. We wouldn’t sell it if we didn’t believe in it. “If I believe in a product idea, I’ll put my time, money, and marketing skills behind it. It might take two-and-a-half years of my life to create and sell a product. But, I enjoy every minute of it!”
– Ron Popeil

This is an example of a product that most people didn’t realize that they need. Imagine how much fun it will be to crank out curly fries. I wonder how easy it will be to clean.

Mr. Beer

Mister Beer

I suspected that this simple box didn’t contain everything you need to brew beer, so I looked up the instructions online”

Mr. Beer Brewing Instructions

Welcome to the world of Mr. Beer®. For over 25 years we have refined the process equipment, and expense than other methods. Our patented brewing system includes a compact, lightweight fermenter keg that is modeled after the design of professional brewing equipment. There are over 100 different Mr. Beer® refills & recipes to choose from. They each produce about 1 case/2 gallons/22 servings of beer in about 4 weeks.
