Saturday is #Caturday
It’s Saturday, February 25, 2023 and I’m looking forward to March. Longer days, warmer temps and spring blooms. Because it is #Caturday I’ve picked a photo of a yawning kitty who belongs to Carl Toko.
Feb 25, 2017 – The Green Center
Six years ago I was a volunteer at our local recycling center AKA The Green Center. It was always interesting to see the parade of items that were donated on those Saturdays. I never had to worry about a lack of head wear.
The Green Center is not only a recycling center, it is also a museum of outdated technology. Remember when Compact fluorescent lights started to replace incandescent bulbs? Now LEDs are replacing them. The outdated ones show up at the Green Center. Still perfectly useable.
Feb 25, 2017 – The Bluegrass Police
I miss the bluegrass jams at the “Peoples Place” in Gardner, MA. Located right across from the fire station, it was a long narrow building affiliated with the Seven Day Adventist church. Monthly they would have music jams. It wasn’t strictly bluegrass music, but Dick, Betty and Pam had the shirts to keep it authentic.
Feb 25, 2014
Two of the first “official” photos of my sister and brother-in-law as grandparents. I also became a GRAND-uncle. Alex is a lot bigger these days but back then he was just a wee lad. I did not take these photos, attribution to parties unknown.
Feb 25, 2013 – A winter wonderland
It was a beautiful day to take photos near the Smithville Reservoir in New Ipswich, NH. In February the sun has some warmth and with no wind it is very pleasant.
Ollie was walking his dog that morning. Because the reservoir was frozen he could take a short cut over the ice.
There is some open water at the outflow of the reservoir
Another view taken slightly to the left. This vantage point is located at the bridge on Taylor Road (currently closed)
Feb 25, 2023 – Wordle 616
I saved the best for last. This morning I solved Wordle in 4 steps maintaining a running streak of 125. My all time record is 139. If I miss a day or game it gets reset. The pressure is on.
Many people utilize the share feature in the game and post a graphic of the game, a series of colored blocks. I follow the example set by my cousin of featuring a representation of the number. Today it took four steps so I give you four photos of Hellebores, one of my favorite spring bloomers. The leaves have already made an appearance. Spring is coming.
