Dining with a view

Kogetsu at the Boiler House is a popular Asian restaurant which is our favorite venue for birthday and anniversary celebrations. It has outdoor dining with a view of a impressive waterfall.

I wanted to try out a new feature on my camera that does a computational neutral density filter. It is possible to do hand-held long exposures. Long exposures are a great way to photograph waterfalls and moving water. It worked very well. I took this photo on April 4, 2022.

The Tiny Stone Cottages

Kogetsu is located at 50 Jaffrey Road in Peterborough, NH.  I was always aware of a number of small stone structures on a hillside directly across the street from the restaurant. The road is heavily traveled and there is no safe way to see these. However I did have  telephoto lens with me and was able to click a few photos between speeding cars. These “little cottages” are quite intriguing.

The next structure is not a cottage, Could it be an altar?a fairy house? I have no idea who made these things but they have been here as long as I remember. I wonder if anyone else notices these as they speed by on Route 202.

There is even a Nativity (with no Joseph). This is barely visible from the road, but I was able to pick it out with a telephoto lens.

It’s too bad that this work is so unapproachable. A lot of time and effort went into its creation.

  1. you need to come back to the Green Center. Each donation day, we get several candidates for your “I found this at the GC” collection. WHERE does some of this stuff come from?
