We get all types of donations at the Green Center and sometimes they come with stories. For example one woman told me about the crochet clowns that her mother made as gifts for people. The woman told me that here mother continued to make these even as she lost her sight to macular degeneration. After hearing the story I was pleased to see it get adopted by one our patrons.

What do you do when you are moving into a smaller place and have to get rid of a large wedding gift? For instance an original painting? A large painting done by a tattoo artist? The only place for something like that is the Green Center.

Similarly, a couple was downsizing and didn’t have room for a large carved Santa Claus created by an artist friend in Maine. However the Santa was quickly adopted as was the painting.
