Kurt Bosworth sits by the window at Aesop’s Tables restaurant with his sketchbook. The restaurant is located in the Toadstool Bookstore in Peterborough, NH. I spoke with Kurt as I dined on a delicious turkey and avocado wrap with a good cup of coffee. He explained that he lives in a small apartment and chooses to be out and among people rather than be alone. He makes drawings of patrons and sometimes animals to entertain children. When I spoke with him he was drawing a sketch of a woman having lunch.

She explained that she was a painter and when I mentioned that I couldn’t draw faces he gave me a quick lesson about dividing an oval into parts and placing the eyes, nose and mouth into place before working on the details.

Kurt sketches for fun but has done some artworks for patrons. His daughter who is a chef at the restaurant, is also an artist and has her work available for sale at the bookstore.
