Nine Years at the Green Center

Green Center

The New Ipswich Recycling Center (aka The Green Center) was established in September 2009.  It provided a place for residents of Greenville and New Ipswich to recycle used clothing, toys, and household items for the benefit of their neighbors. The Center had its origins as a shipping container at the Transfer Station, where residents could drop off usable items. However that became untenable when people dumped sofas, televisions and trash to avoid paying dumping fees.

The Green Center was originally housed in Building 2 behind the Town Hall on Turnpike Road. Volunteers screened and sorted incoming donations. It was open to residents of New Ipswich and Greenville. Toxic mold in Building 2 necessitated relocating the Center to the town garage.

We celebrated our 9th year in operation on September 10, 2018 with Nisu, brownies and coffee (brewed in a donated Keurig coffee maker).
