My sister and I flew to Houston to settle the estate of our late sister Pat. I gathered all of her photos, letters and journals. She was a wonderful complex woman and I’m sad that there is so much I didn’t know about her. It is bittersweet learning about her life after she is gone.

The photos are fun, and I’m amazed how many were taken in a time that predates the mobile phone. She had some great girlfriends and they seemed up for any kind of adventure.

It is cold in Connecticut in February, but that didn’t stop my sister and her friends Linda and Cathy to head to the beach and click a few photos on the pier. It also appears to be a rather blustery day, Here are the photos.

In my  mind’s eye I see some of these photos in an opening sequence for a 1980s TV show about young professional women striking out on their own.

I am sure they had a lot of a laughs that day. Thank you Linda for taking these photos and thanks to both of you for being such good friends to Pat.
