If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music?
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

The Daily Picture Theme for May 9, 2024 is #Glow
This is a story about lobsters that glow in the dark. In 2010 when had a seafood dinner at home. A lobster from our local grocery and some haddock. My wife had the lobster and left the shells in a tray so I could compost them the next day. When I went to bed I turned off the lights in the kitchen and noticed a green glow coming from the remnants of the lobster meat, I was so excited about this that I took a photo (featured photo). My wife was fine. I’m guessing the lobster ingested some type of bioluminescent creature. I’ve checked every other lobster we’ve had since that night and found only one other that glowed.
I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site, A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” The picture theme for today is #Glow and I have a few more examples of glowing things that aren’t crustaceans.
Wednesday – May 9, 2024
Clear this morning, 45 degrees but quickly became quite comfortable. Eye exam this morning no Tai Chi. I spent most of the morning staring into a bright light and trying to discern letters and numbers. I left with dilated pupils which made it too uncomfortable to to work outside even with sunglasses on. It was just too bright, maybe I should have used my eclipse glasses. I did see that we are getting regular visits from the hummingbirds and Orioles.
On This Day
On these nice days I’m tempted to start planting. However this photo from May 9, 2020 illustrates why this is not a wise move. On that day we had snow. It is best to wait till the end of May before we are rid of winter.
