The theme for May 2, 2024 is #Grass
I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site, A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” The theme for today is #Grass, The featured photo is one of Witch Grass (or Quack Grass. It is a noxious grass that I find in the garden. It sends out white rhizomes that can penentrate plastic sheeting. When I attempt to pull it up the rhizomes break off insuring that it will be a problem forever.
If you expect photos of a manicured lawn, you will be disappointed. I keep to the tradition of NO-MOW May so that the pollinators can have their blooms.
On This Day – May 2nd (2021)
On this May 2, 2021 I saw that the Baltimore Orioles were back in the neigborhood. This year (2024) I caught a glimpse of one, but no photos (yet). That means that the Hummingbirds and Catbirds have returned. I love this part of Spring. What I don’t love were the ticks that my wife and I found crawling on our scalps today (2024).
Time to choose a new starting word for WORDLE!
