November 25, 2023 (Saturday)
It was cold and clear this morning, only 17 degrees F. I wasn’t concerned, I was going to Hip-Hop class. I knew that would warm me up. The only problem is that I may need to dial it back a little, my heart rate is a little too high for someone of my age. I also don’t know how to twerk properly.

Small Business Saturday
I headed over to the library which was hosting Small Business Saturday. I took chances on the raffle items, chatted with Carl and the locals, had some Nisu and coffee and bought a calendar. No one called later in the day, so I can only assume I didn’t win the 100 gallons of heating oil.
Kitchen Drain (No Leaks)
Lois, the nightmare is over. The cheap flexible pipe arrived from Amazon along with a can of T-PLUS-2 Pipe Thread Sealant. I slathered that on the threads and attached the flimsy flexible pipe to the drain. No leaks. I have no idea how long this will last before clogs up or cracks, but for now it is holding together. I have enough PVC to fix it properly if I need to.  If women don’t find you handsome, they can at least find ya handy as Red Green would say.
Daily Picture Theme – Swim
I participate in a daily photo challenge on the social media site Spoutible. Everyday there is a different subject announced as a Daily Picture Theme. I select an appropriate  photo from my collection to share. I have been sharing these exclusively on Improves With Age, my Substack newsletter. However since I have untaken the task of writing daily entries, I decided to introduce a daily picture theme photo to this website.
The theme for the day is Swim. I went to the analog archives for this. Photo was taken circa mid-1970s at my Uncles house in Stamford, CT. While I was in the Navy I had purchase an underwater Nikonos camera to replace the non-underwater one I was holding when I slipped and fell into a pond. At least that mishap occurred in Hawaii where it was pleasant and warm. I was anxious to use the Nikonos in the pool and this photo features my wife Ginny and brother-in-law Roger. Eventually that camera leaked just as the aforementioned drain pipe. In the intervening years I’ve own several waterproof cameras. So far only the Olympus Tough series have held up to the challenge. Those photos will eventually find their way to this website.
