No Kings Protest – Jaffrey, NH – Oct 18, 2025

I joined millions of other Americans on a warm October afternoon in Jaffrey, NH to  “to assemble peacefully and petition the government.” as guaranteed by the first amendment. Donald J. Trump wants to be a king and we literally fought a war against a monarch 250 years ago. We need to rise up against that.

It was a diverse crowd of all ages and the mood was joyful. Most cars honked their support and at least one truck “burned coal” to blanket the air with diesel fumes. I was standing next to a group of folks who were playing Neil Young songs . It was an interesting combination of folk music and traffic sounds.

My town of New Ipswich, NH did not have a planned demonstration which was the reason I traveled to Jaffrey. Both towns have a relatively small population of just over 6,000 people. I met up with some locals and had some nice conversations. I even spoke with the lone Trump supporter and thanked her for exercising her right to free speech. She appears in my photo collection.

Sing Out

During the civil rights movement and the Vietnam protests we had the songs for the time. I was pleased to see that tradition is still with us. Sing along with Jesse.
