It’s been a while
Did you miss me? I missed you. Summer is a busy time. I have been regularly posting photographs to my Improves with Age Substack page following a daily “theme” that is specified from a social media site. These posts are too brief to warrant a post on this web page. It is easier just to show them as a slide show.

Ko-Fi and Buy Me a Coffee
I keep experimenting with ways to cover my publishing costs so that I recoup a fraction of what I spend on this hobby. That is the reason that this website is riddled with advertising. I earn a few cents a day. Cents not dollars but at least it is something. In addition I decided to publish content on the mini-blogging site Ko-Fi (It’s a play on the word Coffee). The idea is that folks might be willing to buy you a virtual cup of coffee if they enjoy seeing your postings. I have lots of photos to share so I doubt I will run out of content.
I’ve been posting on the Ko-Fi site for several years and receive an occasional donations. Instead of a stream of pennies I may see a ten dollar donation. It has a simple interface and it is incredibly easy to use. I have been posting “On This Day” photos daily. These are photos taken on the same day of the year but in an early year.

Buy Me A Coffee
However there is just one problem with the Ko-Fi platform and it was an important one. I received no feedback about reader engagement. I just wanted to see if I was shouting into the void or whether folks were looking at what I was puttng out there. I just wanted to see if anyone was viewing this stuff.
I discovered there was another platform named Buy Me A Coffee which was remarkably similar to Ko-Fi. However it provide a count of the number of times that a posting was viewed. I could learn if anyone was out there.Needless to say that will be where I will be placing my efforts from this time forward.
Boston Museum of Fine Arts
Enough minutia about publishing platforms. You didn’t visit to read about that, you came for photos. I had a wonderful visit to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with Ginny and Emily. We had time-entry tickets for a display of Van Gogh portraits. Even with a designated time, it was quite crowded. However the rest of the museum was quite empty and we explored the galleries. Thankfully I was able to take some photos. What a wonderful place.
