What a great start for the summer season

It was windy and warm today with low humidy. Clear skies and fresh air. What a great kickoff for summer. I tried to share the joy with Raven but he was non-plussed (or is that non-pussed).

Happy summer, Raven could care less.

End of No-Mow May (and June)

It was cool enough to finally mow the lower front lawn. With all the rain and my No-Mow May philosophy it was approaching knee length. Thankfully it was dry enough that it was easy to cut. One advantage of battery mowers is that the motor speeds up under heavy loads. I noticed that the Meadow Anemone patch had grown in size which was fine with me since it is a beautiful ground cover and means less lawn to cut.

Luna gets settled in

My kittens were born on December 5, 2024. They are now active teenagers. Raven (the male) was neutered on May 5th, and it was Luna’s turn this week. She had gone into heat which complicated the surgery a bit since the uterus swells, meaning more stitches. When I picked her up she was completely stoned, eyes dilated and barely able to walk. It was a chore keeping her from trying to climb stairs or jump. I had a onesie and an elizabethan collar for her but it was a disaster trying to get them on. Her brother was very concerned about her which once again cemented my belief in the dignity of cats.

I locked her in the bathroom for the night for her own protection. No stairs to tumble down. Her brother kept watch outside the door. I didn’t sleep too well from worry and woke about two to check on her. The good news is that she is recovering nicely but looks ridiculous with a shaved belly and arms. Stitches come out in 10 to 14 days. I have that in common with her, I had MOHS surgery and just got my stitches out. We can compare scars.

Adobe Portfolio

I signed up for a 14 day trial of Smugmug because I wanted to investigate ways to feature some of my favorite photos. As I pondered whether it was worth the cost I realized that I had perfectly useable application as part of my Adobe Photography Plan, something I already paid for. Adobe Portfolio is a work in progress because I haven’t figure out all the editing features but I did start to add some content. To complicate things is that is also aligned with something called Behance which is entirely different garden. I thought when I retired I was getting away from technology, just the opposite is true.

I have several collections underway and choosing what to include is going to be a challenge. Give it a look. This is my current collection, photos from Maine,
