Veterans Day
The New Ipswich Fire Department hosted a delicious luncheon for Veterans at the Firehouse. I posted the photos before, but will repeat them for this newsletter.

Christmas Ideas at the Green Center
I visited the Green Center (our recycling center) to photograph some of the featured items that were available for adoption on Saturday. I posted these on my substack page – Improves with Age. These are the full resolution version of the featured items.
New Ipswich Historical Society
I write a daily newsletter for the New Ipswich Historical Society. I’m on constant alert for “new” material to share with my subscribers. Thankfully fellow historian Carl Toko manages to locate old photos and material that I can use. His latest find was a binder of newspaper clippings. I also found a tin of medicine.
Bruised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)
I’ve been having some fun playing guitar using the app Chordify. It is a clever piece of software that analyzes YouTube music videos and produces a running display of the chord changes. I cannot read music and rely on song sheets with chord notations. The problem with these is that the chord changes are usually in the wrong location. I can usually “hear” where the change is supposed to occur but it is nice to get a visual cue, especially on instrumental tunes.
This is one of my coping songs after the election. I may have posted it before, but it bears repeating.
Daily Picture Themes
Whiskey – Tango – Foxtrot
My Strange Life became a lot stranger after the election. I find myself say WTF as the Trump nominees are being dredged up. For analysis I’ve been turning to several Substacks which I will share in this section. I would highly recommend reading The Thom Hartmann Report.
I’m on Bluesky
I left Twitter after Elon Musk took over. I signed up for several social media sites including Bluesky. However most of the new organizations and journalist remained on the Twitter platform…. until now. Suddenly there was an exodus to Bluesky. Welcome, look for me,

Can we talk?
I have removed AdSense advertising from my site. The ads were annoying and cluttered up the page. However it does cost money (and time) to publish this website. If you enjoy the content, why not become a supporter? Think of it as buying me a “virtual cup of coffee”. FYI the average cost of a cup of coffee in 2024 is $3.08.
