A Week of Politics

Kamala Harris - Keene State

I’ll be voting for Kamala on Tuesday

It is not hyperbole to categorize this as the most important election in my lifetime. The choice couldn’t be clearer. If you disagree with my choice I encourage you to find and watch an entire video of a Donald Trump rally. I won’t include a link here, just pick a recent one. As a matter of fact I will be voting for the entire Democratic slate. We have some wonderful candidates. I saw some of the locals speak at Candidates Night at Mascenic High School in New Ipswich on October 29th.

Halloween at the Green Center

I visited the Green Center (our recycling center) on Halloween to photograph some of the featured items that would be available for adoption on Saturday. I posted these on my substack page – Improves with Age. This is another look that can be viewed in full resolution.

New Ipswich Historical Society

I write a daily newsletter for the New Ipswich Historical Society. I’m on constant alert for “new” material to share with my subscribers. Thankfully fellow historian Carl Toko manages to locate old photos and material that I can use. His latest find was an online page listing some of the historic buildings in our town.

Hot Buttered Rum

I’ve been having some fun playing guitar using the app Chordify. It is a clever piece of software that analyzes YouTube music videos and produces a running display of the chord changes. I cannot read music and rely on song sheets with chord notations. The problem with these is that the chord changes are usually in the wrong location. I can usually “hear” where the change is supposed to occur but it is nice to get a visual cue, especially on instrumental tunes.

On Wednesday I visited friends for lunch and music. One song came up that I had forgotten about written by Tommy Thompson of the Red Clat Ramblers. It is a good song for winter.

Garden Chores

Yellow Canna blossom

The Dahlias and Cannas have been killed by the frost. I dug up the tubers and brought them into the cellar where I will pack them in wood shavings. They would not survive the New Hampshire winters. Next year I think I’ll be planting them in large planters instead of the ground.

Can we talk?

I have removed AdSense advertising from my site. The ads were annoying and cluttered up the page. However it does cost money (and time) to publish this website. If you enjoy the content, why not become a supporter? Think of it as buying me a “virtual cup of coffee”. FYI the average cost of a cup of coffee in 2024 is $3.08.

  1. Remember- the GOP history
Watch out for Jazz, Weed, Rock & Roll ,LGBTQ, immigrants…. stay afraid

They don’t have. plan (other than an authoritarian Project 2025) with a Felon and 39 yr old inexperienced guy. Vance said “I can’t stomach Trump. He’s noxious and is leading the white working class to a very dark place. Vance thought of Trump as “America’s Hitler” or “a cynical asshole like Nixon”.

For those that respect the military – look at what 4 star Marine general, who worked with Trump say about him . https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2024/11/4/tait-trump-marine-general-fascism/
