163rd Children’s Fair

Garden Shop at Children's Fair

Thank you

Another Children’s Fair for the history books, the continuation of a 163 year tradition. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones at the Garden Shop. Thank you Bonny-Jo for being my co-host. Thank you to the setup team for the tent and six “brand new” recycled tables. Also a special thanks to the nurseries that provide the plants and flowers each year, Mason Hollow Nursery, Mason Brook Nursery and Amazing Flower Farm. Please patronize these businesses for all your garden supplies and planting advice. Their donations are crucial for the continuing success of the Garden Shop.

What a busy day

I have no idea of the attendance numbers, but we were busy all day. Normally I have a bit of down time to walk around a click photos, but not this year. After we packed up our area I headed home to enjoy my chicken dinner and collapse on the sofa. Kudos to the BBQ team, the chicken and fixings were delicious.Love that Barrett corn.

Photos

Here are a few photos taken during setup week and on the day of the fair.

Free beer?

Did anyone stop for the free beer being offered on Main Street. When I drove by I noticed a “Free Beer” sign by the side of the road. A group of guys were sitting at the end of the driveway beckoning to the passing cars. I was headed home with dinner for two so I had to decline the offer. I suspect they might have had a full keg they needed to empty. Maybe a reader knows the rest of this story.

Sansevieria (Snake Plant)

In a previous post I posted some photos of plants including one of a Sansevieria. At the fair I was asked if it was still available. Unfortunately someone had taken it. However I was able to secure a cutting, Now I need to locate that “someone” whom I believe was Michelle Anderson-Hill. If so please contact me so we can get this to you.
