A bit cooler, Summer is winding down
Good evening readers, I’m running late with this weekly photo journal post which I intended to send on Sunday the 11th of August. However I woke that day feeling a little queasy. It was bout of Vertigo which sometimes makes its unwelcome visit. Thankfully I felt better by lunch time and was able to go to the monthly music Jam at the Temple Town Hall.
It was a fairly quiet week and quite a bit of rain. The FarOuters mens group met in Paul W’s workshop and we discussed the Olympics. Paul W was a photojournalist for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, He showed off some the SWAG he had collected (photos). There is a photo of a brush cutter that chopped its way along our road. I was hoping they would eliminate my invasive Rosa multiflora, but all they did was cut down part of my comfrey patch and chew up some saplings.
I’ve included a photo of a boat that I saw at the transfer station. It cost the owner $100 to dispose of it. I speculated that it would have made an idea playhouse. Kids could pretend they were sailors or pirates. Put in a field of blue-green ornamental grass to enhance the experience. Later I stopped into the New Ipswich Historical Society to have a chat with John Rosenfelder and Carl Toko. I gathered some documentation for the Substack newsletter that I publish for the Society. I’m always on the hunt for “new” old documents.
We went to the Waterhouse Restaurant in Peterborough, NH for a Friday Lunch. I was getting tired of eating leftovers for lunch, needed something different. The salmon skewers were delicious and worthy of a photo.
Let’s take a look at the week in photos,.
