The Daily Picture Theme for June 28, 2024 is #Post. John Weber constructed a post and beam garden shed using a combination of recycled wood from his barn and new timbers. This photo was taken in October 2007.

Last night was a debate debacle and I am so sorry I watched it. How can you debate a guy who is so comfortable telling lies? There was no fact checking. Biden looked weak and confused, Trump was all aglow in his orange makeup, It was painful to watch. I should have skipped the debate and just watched Jon Stewart’s analysis.
It is the last Friday of the month so after Tai Chi I had a nice breakfast at Friendship Hall in Temple, As usual Peggy Cournoyer was making blueberry pancakes. Served with Ben’s maple syrup, coffee and good conversation it was delightful,
It was probably the nicest summer weather we’ve had so far. It was cool and dry and I took the opportunity to split some of the monster oak logs for firewood. I discovered that I can’t find my sledge hammer which I need for the wedges. Another misplaced tool. This may be the last of wood splitting till it gets cool in fall. Tomorrow the humidity is supposed to return.

Nice shot of John Weber making his post and beam shed. In 1984 I built a post and beam barn, you can see it at 166 Tamarac Rd Troy, NY on Google maps.
John lived on Taylor Road in one of the matching 200 year old homes. When he had the barn foundation repaired he had some original beams. He decided to build a garden shed using those and some new ones that are shown in the photos. It is a very nice shed and probably will stand for another 200 years.
