Dumbo

DUMBO is a neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. I never would have known that if I didn’t play the NYT CONNECTION puzzle each day. I also wouldn’t have known that EMO, TRAP and DUB were music genres. There is so much to learn, the this knowledge is essential for daily survival.

Busy day

I started the day with Tai Chi and Yoga before a dauy of choring around. I realized that I didn’t really want to raise meal worms and decided to return them to Lorri Rodier who feeds them to her chickens. I was intrigued to learn that they eat and digest Styrofoam. Also that the larva is nutritious for both birds and humans. I’ll just stick to raising red wriggler earthworms, They remain as earthworms, not pupate into some creepy beetle. I had a nice visit with Lorri, we discussed plants and I sampled some leaves from the Sassafras tree and a plant that tastes like black pepper. Lorri introduced me to some baby bunnies which were uber cute.

Choring around

I paid my property tax and headed off the Tractor Supply to fill some propane tanks, buy safflower seed and dog food for the birds (cardinals like the seed and crows like the dog food). Also some salt to remove the iron and manganese from the water. My water system looks like a chemical factory. Everything was heavy, the bags of salt and the full 20 pound tanks. Between the Qi Gong fire set, yoga and luggiing stuff around I feel I had a quite a workout today.
