Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
William Shakespeare

On March 18, 1990, 13 works of art were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. In spite of a ten million dollar reward, they have not be recovered. Empty frames mark their absence at the museum.

I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site, A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” The theme today is #Empty and I chose a few “empty shelves” photos taken during the height of the Pandemic. Remember looking for toilet paper?

Friday – May 10, 2024

Cloudy and a cool 41 degrees this morning. It cleared a bit but remained cool all day. Carl Toko and I went on our Friday soup run to Mother Hubbard’s Ladle. The special today was Italian Wedding soup, very nice. Also picked up a frozen Seafood Gumbo which was the last week special. I did some choring around, mowed a bit of the lawn and watered all the houseplants and orchids, Two of the orchids that Angelika Weber gave me are in bloom. They are very dependable bloomers.

I received an invitation to my 60th High School reunion. Has it really been that long? Occasionally I’ll see a post on Facebook from a former classmate but mostly I’ve lost track of what now seems like ancient history. Maybe I’ll attend the 75th if I’m not dead. I am interested in the stories of other people, so I’ll invite my classmates of 1964 to add a comment, Let me know how you are doing. I provide a comment block on each of my postings. My life is laid out for all to see on this site.

Northern Lights?

There is a major Solar Storm underway and I’m prepared for a chance of seeing some Northern Lights and hopefully getting some photos.

Seven Years Ago

A look back seven years ago on this day. I’m always on the lookout for Trilliums, They are very showy but only last a short time. I took photos of other Spring blooms Sadly these are the last peach blossoms I’ll have. The cold snap in February 2023 killed the tree.
