The Daily Picture Theme is #Stay
I participate in a photography challenge on Spoutible, a social media site that I joined when I left Twitter. A hashtagged theme is posted each day from the account of Daily Picture Theme which describes itself as “The Big Photo Album of Our Community.” It is a challenge to find appropriate pictures for some of themes, and I was a bit at a loss with the choice today of #Stay.
At first I was thinking of places to STAY such as vacation homes, or of the command to a dog to STAY. However I decided to think about the time aspect of the word. What happens when you stay at a venue too long? There is a time one should leave. This seemed to be the case for these two women who were enjoying the beach on Monomoy Island while ignoring the fact that they really stayed a bit too long and that the tide was coming in.
Stranded
On This Day – April 2nd (2024)
I enjoyed a pleasant lunch today with the Farouters men’s group. The conversation ranged from Women’s basketball (Go UCONN), politics, antique furniture, the eclipse and of course the weather. Just as we are longing for warm weather, a Nor-easter has been predicted for the next two days. More broken branches and power outages may be in our future.
I’ve lived in this town long enough to sense when storms were heading our way. This was definitely the calm before the storm.
You know l was walking on the Rail Trail this morning and you could feel stillness.
It’s a feeling of anticipation. I do like stormy weather but not a fan of broken trees and no power.
