Birk is a troll created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo who is known for using recycled wood to create large, ambitious sculptures. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens has five of his troll sculptures. Each Troll represents an aspect or feature of trees. Birk knows that all the roots in the forest are connected together and that the trees can communicate with each other.
Birk is the wisest and most mysterious of the trolls. He hides in the shadows and listens to the whispers of the soil. He knows everything that happens in the wild, and every day he tells tales to all the other creatures of the forest.

These trolls are astonishing and I think are born from channeling. I ‘met’ Birk this morning–thought of an owl, the owl became a beard the rest of Birk said so much. I want to go see them now!!! Thanks so much for sharing these creations!

In a few weeks, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens will be in full bloom, worth the trip to Boothbay. I never found the “seeds” that are referenced.
