New Ipswich, NH – 1817
Our former town hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but it is not used for any function. It had some structural issues but Matt Brown replaced some rotten sills in 2019. The building was used for the White Elephant sale at the annual Children’s Fair, but now stands empty which is a shame.
Temple, NH Town Hall – 1842
I’m very familiar with this town hall. We practice Tai Chi inside during the colder months. It is also the location of a monthly acoustic music jam.
Jaffrey, NH Meeting House -1775
This meeting house was raised on the same day as the Battle of Bunker Hill (June 17th). Of course it has been renovated. It is a striking building with a view of Mount Monadnock and proximity to a historic graveyard.
Chesterfield, NH Town Hall
I saw this town hall when I was visiting Madame Sherri’s Castle ruins. I don’t know when it was constructed. This was built from stone,
Peterborough, NH Town Hall – 1918
I’ve seen a number of Presidential candidates and a few protests at this town hall. I also visit it on New Years Day to walk the Labyrinth they set up for the start of the New Year.
Team that recreates the Labyrinth for New Years Eve and New Years Day. A tradition that is back in 2023 after a Covid hiatus.
New Boston, NH Town Hall – 1889
Provincetown, MA Town Hall – 1885
This is my only photo that wasn’t taken in New Hampshire, I wanted to include it because this is such a beautiful building.
