January 23, 2023 – Heavy snow
It is amazing to find that I still have power. After a heavy wet snow this weekend, we are getting more of the same. The trees are bent to the ground with the weight. The power has been flickering all morning, but I still managed to solve Wordle and the NYT Mini-Crossword. Also published the daily Historical Society Newsletter and cooked a batch of oatmeal for the week. So far, everything is holding together, at least electrically. I’ve had a lot of tree damage this year and many of the shrubs are weighted down under the snow. When the sun finally returns it will be quite at sight to see.
January 23, 2018 – Ice Storm
We had a similar weather pattern five years ago. An ice storm followed by some sun. I was out that day taking photos. Snow is always preferable to ice.
I’ll never understand how flower buds can survive the winter. However I am grateful that they can.
January 23, 2005 – Buried Cars
One thing I will never regret is the addition of a garage. In 2005, after running the snow blower, I was still faced with the chore of removing the drifts of snow from the cars. I’m not even sure why I had three cars back then. Now the cars are safely parked in the garage.
Hopefully I can some good photos after our current storm. As I finish this posting the power is still on, but flickering.

Mom lost power but the automatic generator we got worked fine so no issues there. We lost power for about 2 hours. Grateful for the fast fix.
