Welcome to the Metaverse
Mark Zuckerberg is simulacrum of a human being that is the driving force behind the “Metaverse”, the place that we will all want to live in.
However there are a few loose ends that need to be ironed out with Facebook, his most successful product.
For example, it is extremely easy to clone an identity. All one needs to do is copy a profile photo and open a new account with an existing user name. Facebook doesn’t check, more users, more to brag about. The new cloned account sends out “friend requests” to the existing friend list and most people add the fake. Who can remember who has been “friended”.Â
The 419 Fraud
I’ll admit I was little surprised to receive a friend request from my cousin’s husband who died in Spring of 2020. He asked how I was doing and I asked about him. In spite of being dead he had an issue with strep throat.
My new friend tells me how he received $50,000 dollars from some government program. This program gives money to retired people, old people and basically everybody because this is the USA.
Naturally he wants to share this good news with me. I just need to contact an agent. Naturally her name would be Miss Glory Christopher. I felt relieved to learn that she is a “God-fearing woman” and trustworthy too. When I write the check, I know I’ll be dealing with honest folks.
I Question His Veracity
I was just a tad bit incredulous about Glory Christopher so I made a snarky comment about his comments being read from a script.
The part about strep throat was so original, I suspected he invented it as a ploy.
Then I thought a bit about the “God-fearing” part and decided to direct the question to him.Â
A Moment of Truth
The time had arrived to inform my imposter that I felt his actions were unethical. I’m certain that my agent, Miss Glory Christopher would expect an fee for transference of the $50,000. This is what I wrote.
Truth Prevails (almost)
It took some time until I received this interesting reply. I felt a bit sorry for him, having to sit in some Internet Cafe pretending to be people on Facebook. But I was most confused by “Ogun Kill Your Pappa”.
Ogun Kill Your Papa
“Ogun kill your papa” is a common Nigerian insult. I must have struck a nerve with this guy. I attempted a bit of snark with my call center comment. In spite of reporting this fake account, it is still active on Facebook. Zuckerberg can you help out?
The time I spent with this clown is time that he didn’t have to contact you. You are most welcome for that.
I guess the person who posted this: https://poltrack.net/2018/12/21/im-leaving-facebook/ was impersonating you?
