I had a dream that I was at a fancy banquet. On my plate was a giant marshmallow which didn’t taste very good. When I awoke I discovered that my pillow was missing.
That is not true. That is one of my lame jokes that I used to tell my kids. What is true is since Pandemic started is that i have had several vivid strange dreams. I know that many of you are experiencing the same thing.
Last night I had dreamed that I was an unwilling participant with some type of criminal activity. I felt helpless, placed in a situation where I felt afraid and apprehensive. In the dream I wasn’t a criminal but was somehow connected to them. You don’t need to be a psychologist to wonder if this has something to do with a global pandemic, massive unemployment, ineffective government and several nights of civil unrest.
Tell Me Your Dream
i dream of covid is a website created by sisters Erin and Grace Gravley. Erin was inspired after reading about the shared dreams of people living under the Hitler’s regime.
“Throughout all time, people have experienced terrifying dreams, dreams not only touched off by some external crisis of a personal nature or originating in the inner tensions of singularly sensitive persons, but brought about by situations that threaten people collectively.” – Charlotte Beradt, The Third Reich of Dreams
Our nation is undergoing such turmoil. Just as we surpassed 100,000 deaths from COVID-19 now we are witnessing our cities on fire. It is a nightmare. The solution I believe is in service to each other. We are not only sharing the dreams but also the pain and fear. It is time to heal.
