Merry Christmas and Happy New Decade. Our Christmas tradition spans two days. One Christmas Eve we gather at my Sister’s house for supper and keep the Polish tradition of exchanging opłatek with best wishes and health for the new year.
Christmas Eve
My nephew sets up a stellar firework display after supper which is most impressive. Check out his festive leggings.
My sister lives in Texas, so we had her join us electronically.
My niece brought two of dogs for the holidays. They had a great time visiting and plotting how they might get some of the turkey. I noticed that Phoebe had a dog-eared ear.
Christmas Day
We headed to my Mother’s house after eating a fine breakfast and exchanging gifts with the children. A fire in the fireplace added to the ambiance.
The dogs and humans enjoyed the warmth of the hearth.
Aunt Stephanie read to Alex from several of the Amelia Bedelia series as Arthur (a short haired, deer head chihuahua) looks on.
There were more gifts to exchange, dinner with lots of leftovers and desert. Alex seemed please with the transformer guy that I found at the Green Center.
