Over hill, over dale,
William Shakespeare
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire!
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon’s sphere;
And I serve the Fairy Queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green;
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours;
In those freckles live their savours;
I must go seek some dewdrops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslip’s ear.
I’ve been interested in the Elemental Kingdom ever since I read The Magic of Findhorn some 40 years ago. It is still fun to imagine faeries, sprites, brownies and other nature spirits tending our earth. Imagine their dismay at what we have done to our dear mother earth. It was fun to visit the Waterloom Fairy Festival held in New Ipswich, NH and imagine a world where magic is real.
The Fairies
The fairies were not shy about allowing themselves to be photographed. I noticed that some of them carried mobile phones. Apparently these are modern fairies.
The Monadnock Academy of Movement Arts led the younger fairies in a ballet routine.
Fairy Houses
Fairies live in small dwellings constructed of natural materials. A fairy guide showed me the way.
Animals
Magic Show
Magician and Illusionist Jason Purdy provided some impressive illusions.
And More
In addition there were crafts, games and music.
John, this is fabulous. Thank you so much for coming by and taking such great shots. You really captured so much of the spirit of our event.
