My sister came up with the Ten Minute Tackle as a strategy for eliminating clutter. The concept is simple, namely to spend at least ten minutes a day organizing and cleaning out clutter. I share a penchant with my two sisters of collecting things. For example, look what I found in my bathroom vanity. Bottles of Vicks Vapo-Rub, a box of fabric dye, decorative Christmas soap, a bottle of cough syrup and lots of half burnt candles.

Tablecloths & Candles

Somehow over the years we have collected enough tablecloths to furnish a banquet. We spent some time far in excess of ten minutes, paring them them down to something more manageable. To say nothing of a shower curtain which was inexplicably shoved into a drawer.

Bedding

In the same way, I went through a bathroom closet gathering unused bedding. We bagged up all these items for the Green Center.

Fun Fact

In spite of the fact that the donated bedding is meant for human beings, some of the extra blankets at the Green Center will eventually be used for animals. For example my friend Lora DePlante’s Vietnamese Pot-bellied pig.
