Mass Audubon’s Lake Wampanoag Wildlife Sanctuary

Mass Audubon Wampanoag Wildlife Refuge

Our Tai Chi class made the decision to practice outside on a beautiful May morning. We chose an idyllic location not far from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. However, I drenched myself in DEET bug repellent knowing that this is height of black fly season.

I brought my camera with the hopes of photographing some birds. Specifically along the meadow loop trail that rings a grass field dotted with birdhouses. I saw lots of Tree swallows and one noisy Bobolink.

The Sanctuary covers 377 acres and I only explored one of the trails. I intend to return and will definitely have my camera with me.
