Sandy’s my dulcimer instructor. She’s one of those musicians who’s ‘at one’ –kind of cliche but that’s the only way I can say what I mean–with her instrument. That must have been quite a show. I’m not taking lessons right now so I didn’t know about this–I feel I need to focus on the tunes I know and get over my anxiety whatever about playing in front of others, even good friends. I can play along in the background no problem but not leading a tune. I figure I need to deal with that rather than lessons. I even do that with Sandy and if David’s in the house it’s the same thing. Interesting because playing music with friends is what I so love to do; I feel like music’s in my bones–I’m surprised I’m still invited to jams the past 10+ years!
Playing music with friends is the best. Sandy told me that there is a jam in Wilton the first Thursday of the month. I need to research that a bit. Joe was quite the musician, nice hearing someone play claw hammer banjo.
