22 Shopping Days Till Christmas
It was a busy Saturday at the Green Center. We continue to get donations of Christmas ornaments. We are overflowing with Christmas trinkets. Please take some away. The Center will be open from 9 – 12 on December 8th and 15th. The Green Center is open to the residents of Greenville and New Ipswich. We may ask that you show proof of residency. We only have room and workers to accommodate our two towns. We encourage other towns to set up similar recycle efforts for their residents.
We did receive some unique and strange objects this Saturday. In the past we have gotten an accordion, guitar, clarinet and violet. This week it was a trumpet.
There are plenty of Christmas items available including a lawn nativity scene, Santa hats and more.
We also received a number of figurines and a feline index card holder.
A young man, appropriately named NOEL was collecting items to fashion into an “Ugly Christmas Sweater”. His friends had fun finding different items to add to his wardrobe.
My volunteer work offers answers to questions I never thought of. This week I learned about bras for strapless gowns. The unasked question concerned how they stay in place. The answer is sticky tabs on each end. This cannot possibly be comfortable.
At this point in this posting I feel I owe my readers an explanation that I don’t make a habit of poking through women’s undergarments. One of our female volunteers brought this to my attention.
You don’t have to be crazy to work at the Green Center but it helps. Help is always available in the book section.
