I spent a fair amount of time in the Philippines during my Navy Years in 1970. We returned to Subic Bay for repairs and R&R after stints “on the line” at Yankee Station.
Most of the time we spent our off hours in the bars in Olongapo, which all featured cold San Miguel beer, music and attractive women. There were plenty of Jeepneys available for transportation.

Another popular spot for R&R was White Rock Beach which had a sandy beach and a large pool with a mermaid.
